#24 ~ Have I mentioned..... Lucy?

This should be short and sweet! Hopefully.

I have been known by a lot of people in my life as Lucille McGillicuddy. Yes, I am Lucy from the adored show I Love Lucy. Well, since my blog is "Musings of a woman....blah, blah, blah", I thought this might describe what a couple of days are like living with me.

Yesterday, I was like a cleaning mad machine. Vacuuming, mopping, changing sheets, doing LOADS of laundry amongst other things. I went to the washing machine to pull out my sheets to put them in the dryer. I open the door and up hops a tiny mouse and falls back into my WET sheets. I SCREAM! Todd comes running in to see what's wrong as he hears me literally scream from the top of my lungs (that little bugger scared the crap outta this farm girl!) I explain to him that there is a mouse in our wet sheets and that he needs to retrieve it. The question of the day? How did this mouse go through the wash cycle, rinse and spin and stay dry and scattering through my wet sheets? No one will ever know, but Todd caught the little bugger as he scampered away and I re-washed my sheets!

This morning... I decide to clean the ashes out of the wood stove as I had a delightful fire all day yesterday with this awesome fall weather. I thought I would have another one today. So I proceed to get a paper bag and start shoveling the ashes into the bag. All of the sudden I start smelling smoke, and I look up and wonder where is that coming from? DUH! Tami, your bag of ashes is on fire! Oh shit! As I try to blow on the bag to put out the growing hole of flames, it proceeds to get bigger (kind of like when we use to burn paper for a project in school to give it the "old paper look"). So I decide to run it outside and carefully hose it down.... Oh good, fixed that. Well that's what you would think, right? Nope! I head back to the wood burning stove and get my portable Dyson vacuum to clean up the ashes that I dropped on the floor. No sooner I smell burning plastic and look down to see a burning flame twirling around in my vaccum! The suction was working great. Oh shit again! I run it outside and empty the flaming contents out into the watered down mess of ashes and looked at my little Dyson. All was good! Smells a little funny, but it's still working! Hope the rest of my day is uneventful....

A day or days in the life of Lucy, I mean Tami....

Have a wonderful weekend everyone and stay safe!
